Ride Description

This area of France is very rural and offers the most wonderful riding for those wishing to 'get away from it all' for a long weekend. There are miles of unspoilt beach for fast riding. The area is real farming country with a network of bridle paths. Your host is a well known endurance rider.

The horses will be totally reliable and will give confidence to nervous riders and those who have not ridden for a while. Mothers and daughters and groups of friends would really love a weekend here with the opportunity to ride along the beach and in the sea. In fact there is 25 kilometres of unspoilt beach on which to ride. However, your guide will also take you through some beautiful countryside where you will really enjoy your riding, There is also plenty of time to relax on this trip.

See Programmes.

Food & Accommodation

Accommodation is at small typically French hotel situated on the Cote d'Opale. Just seconds from the beach the rooms are simply furnished but with en-suite facilities. Some rooms have views of the sea.

There are rooms to accommodate two but also a small apartment which has two double rooms and facilities to sleep two extra. This also has kitchen facilities. This would be a great place for a group of friends and families to have some fun. This is not a sophisticated hotel but is perfectly good.

The alternative accommodation is a charming gite situated 50 metres from the beach which has 5 guest rooms with ensuite facilities.

Breakfast is included and is a typical French continental breakfast. Lunch and dinner on Saturday is at a local restaurant. The restaurant serves typical French food and is extremely good with an extensive menu. Picnic lunches will be eaten on the Sunday.

Activities

The beach is literally one minute from your hotel and is very unspoilt. Walking along this quiet beach or maybe just sitting in the sun would be a pleasure.

If you wish to take your own car to France, there is a great opportunity to visit the Cite Europe Shopping Centre in Calais to stock up on those wonderful French cheeses and, of course, the duty free wine. This whole area of France is very unspoilt and underrated and it is worthwhile taking a look around if you are able. There are golf courses nearby, tennis and cycling.
